International and Regional Mediation Underway to De-escalate ‎Tensions Between Sudan and Ethiopia

Diplomatic sources told Asharq Bloomberg that international and ‎regional efforts are under way to mediate between Sudan and ‎Ethiopia, in a bid to de-escalate tensions and contain the growing ‎strain between the two countries.‎

The sources said Western countries had stepped up their diplomatic ‎efforts to contain the crisis between Khartoum and Addis Ababa, ‎alongside intensive contacts between Western parties and Sudanese ‎and Ethiopian officials aimed at reducing tensions and preventing the ‎crisis from widening.‎

The mediation efforts come amid strained relations between Sudan ‎and Ethiopia following mutual accusations between the two countries. ‎The developments have raised concerns about a possible escalation of ‎the crisis and its implications for stability in the Horn of Africa.‎
