Hidden War in Sudan… (408) Machines Used to Counterfeit Sudanese Pound Seized
The Director General of Police Forces in Khartoum State, Lt. Gen. (Police) Amir Abdel-Moneim, has revealed that the Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS) had received 408 printing machines used in counterfeiting the Sudanese pound.
During his meeting with the Minister of Justice, Lt. Gen. Amir Abdel-Moneim confirmed the launch of the pilot operation of the (999) Emergency Police, noting the implementation of 15 security cordons to contain crime dens and limit their spread in the capital.
He pointed out the continued implementation of plans to secure the capital, through the activation of fixed and mobile checkpoints and joint patrols, in addition to the installation of surveillance cameras in areas experiencing security vulnerabilities.
Meanwhile, Minister of Justice Abdullah Dirif underscored that the police deployment has contributed to restoring the state’s prestige and enforcing the rule of law. He praised the significant achievements of the police forces in controlling crimes related to currency counterfeiting.
The Minister of Justice was briefed on the efforts made to operate the criminal police stations in Khartoum State.
