Head of Otash IDP Camp and His Son Assassinated in Nyala

Armed men affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) assassinated the head of Atash IDP Camp, Abdel-Razig Hassan Galis, and his son on Saturday morning inside his home in the camp.

The Otash camp is located northeast of Nyala.

Eyewitnesses told Darfur Now that gunmen riding a motorcycle stormed Galis’s home at 5:00 a.m., killing the head of the camp immediately.

His son was taken to the hospital for treatment and later died.

Deep grief swept through Otash Camp and Nyala, where an atmosphere of shock and grief prevailed among IDPs and residents following the horrific incident.

Meanwhile, citizens mourned Abdel-Razig Hassan Galis and his son, praising his role in serving the IDPs and his wise leadership of the camp. They emphasized that his killing represents a great loss to the local community.

It is worth noting that the perpetrators fled the scene.
