Gulf States Condemn Militia Targeting of Saudi Hospital in El-Fashir

Gulf States condemned the targeting of the Saudi hospital in El-Fashir, Sudan, by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, as a drone attack on the hospital killed 70 people and injured dozens, including children and women.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the Saudi hospital in El-Fashir, stressing that it is a violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
In turn, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the Saudi hospital in El-Fashir. He affirmed that this targeting represents a flagrant and serious violation of international laws, treaties and UN resolutions, which require the protection of civilians and civil objects, including health facilities.
The GCC Secretary-General called for the need to provide full protection for medical staff and health facilities in Sudan, to enable them to perform their humanitarian duties to the fullest extent, especially in light of the harsh conditions experienced by the brotherly Sudanese people.
He underscored the importance of respecting international and humanitarian laws, and the need to hold accountable those responsible for these violations that threaten the lives of innocent people and hinder humanitarian efforts.
For its part, the State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the Saudi hospital in the city of El-Fashir. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered, in a statement today, that the bombing of the hospital represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which guarantees the safety of patients and medical staff working in hospitals, and the preservation of health facilities in times of war, urging the international community to take urgent action to protect civil objects.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) also strongly condemned and denounced the targeting of the Saudi hospital in the city of El-Fashir in western Sudan, which resulted in the killing and wounding of a number of innocent people, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
