(German woman) Recounts Details of Her Tragedy with RSF militia in Sudan

A German woman residing in the city of Omdurman in Khartoum State in Sudan revealed details of herself and her husband’s exposure to violations and harassment by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, and how she decided to stay in Sudan despite the war conditions, the harassment of RSF militia, and the death of her husband.
Christine Heidner told Al Jazeera Mubashir that her home, and also her husband’s Mohamed Sayid, was repeatedly raided in an attempt to rob it by people from Chad, which made her husband anxious as a result of these actions.
She added – speaking in Arabic – about what happened, during that period, “One day I went to the store to get beans and falafel and some things, and as soon as I returned home I found a thief entering the house, and Mohamed was alone and the man was threatening him with a weapon and he is goining to kill him if he raises his voice.” She added that her husband died after that and she had to go alone to his family to tell them about his death, noting that she was always harassed by militia members because she was German, including digging around her house looking for money, believing she had plenty of it.
Christine confirmed that she would stay in Sudan despite her husband’s death, praising the family that embraced her during the most difficult days of her life, and said, “I don’t have a family in Germany, so I preferred to stay in Sudan after 20 years of living there, and now I have found a family, which is the Sheikh-Eddin family, and they have become my new family.”
