Foreign mercenaries and elements of Al-Dagalo clan killed in an unknown explosion in Nyala
Identical sources and eyewitnesses from Nyala have disclosed that elements of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia were killed and injured in an unknown explosion that occurred last Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses from the Al-Masane’ and Al-Matar neighborhoods told Darfur 24 that they heard explosions and plumes of smoke rising Wednesday morning in the direction of the factories northwest of the Sega Grain Factory.
They pointed out that the militia prevented citizens from approaching the explosion site and closed the roads leading to it.
They reported that the explosion occurred only a few meters from the headquarters that was targeted at the end of last June.
In this context, a source unveiled that the militia had brought four anti-aircraft missiles from abroad and stored them inside the headquarters where the explosion occurred, adding that two of them were buried underground.
For his part, a medical source reported that 18 wounded militia soldiers, including officers, arrived at Al-Yaqeen Medical Complex after the shelling of the warehouse’s courtyard. He noted that eight of them later died, and five underwent urgent surgery; three at the Teaching Hospital and two at the Jabal Neighborhood Hospital east of Nyala.
The source stated that among the dead and wounded were foreign fighters, likely from South Sudan.
