Al-Burhan Donates 3,500 Kiosks to Tea Sellers and Food Vendors in Khartoum

President of the Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, pledged to support the Khartoum State Government’s efforts to organize the work of food and beverage vendors and provide them with a working environment that preserves their dignity, promotes stability, and helps improve their families’ living conditions. He announced that he would provide 3,500 kiosks, at a rate of 500 kiosks for each of the state’s seven localities.

Addressing a large gathering organized by the state government with women food and beverage vendors at the Khartoum Legislative Council Hall, Al-Burhan commended the major role Sudanese women have played throughout the country’s history. He said Sudanese women had sacrificed their sons and husbands as martyrs for the just causes of the Sudanese people and had directly contributed to supporting the Battle of Dignity and sustaining society during the exceptional circumstances facing the country.

He stressed that the state is required to provide Sudanese women with a dignified life, noting that the kiosk initiative was launched in recognition of working women and in support of their livelihoods. He announced that the kiosks allocated to food and hot-beverage vendors would be provided free of fees and taxes.

TSC President affirmed that the Armed Forces and their supporting forces would continue their efforts to restore security and stability and eliminate the rebellion, stressing the protection of Sudanese citizens and the preservation of their dignity. He further affirmed that the Armed Forces would continue to fulfill their national duty until the objectives of the Battle of Dignity are achieved and the country’s unity and sovereignty are preserved.
