RSF Militia Digs Trenches Around Nyala
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has imposed tight security and military measures inside and around Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, including restricting the movement of residents and upgrading its military arsenal.
Sources told Brown Land newspaper that the militia has established new checkpoints and observation posts under heavy military guard, aimed at gaining full control over movement into and out of the city. The measures have coincided with continued digging of trenches and earthworks surrounding Nyala from all directions to secure its land routes.
Meanwhile, the newspaper quoted its sources as saying that the militia recently received a shipment of new combat and armored vehicles locally known as “Kashkash.” The vehicles were immediately deployed and distributed for use in internal security operations and to reinforce security measures along the city’s main streets.
