Foreign Advisers Direct Dagalo Family to Empty Daqris Prison in Nyala
Multiple sources have revealed that the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Nyala has issued directives to release more than 1,000 male and female prisoners from Daqris Prison unconditionally, noting that the decision is currently being examined and reviewed by foreign advisers brought in by the militia last week.
According to an eyewitness, the sources confirmed that the motives behind the surprise decision have nothing to do with humanitarian considerations, nor does it stem from a legal or security review of the detainees’ files or the crimes attributed to them. Rather, the decision was prompted by fears of imminent international legal proceedings.
The reports said that a foreign “team of experts” had managed to document and film the deteriorating humanitarian conditions inside the prison, while the militia and its allies abroad had failed to seize or destroy the footage, which has now become compelling evidence directly implicating the Dagalo family before international legal authorities.
