Death Sentence for RSF Collaborator and Torture Official in Garri Detention
The Omdurman Central Prosecution brought defendant (B.M.S.), a police officer affiliated with the reserve forces, before the Omdurman Central Criminal Court under case No. 720/2025, charged under articles 26, 50, 51, and 186 of the 1991 Penal Code (amended 2020).
According to the case file, the defendant, described as a collaborator, joined the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after being captured and was placed in charge of the Garri detention facility in Al-Gaili. He tortured detainees, killed three prisoners of war, and severely mistreated others, causing injuries among regular forces’ captives.
Six prosecution witnesses, all former detainees of Garri, testified against him. Following cross-examination, the court charged him with waging war against the state, undermining the constitutional order, and committing crimes against humanity.
The defense failed to present its requested witness, after which the court reserved the case for judgment. Having found him guilty, it sentenced the defendant to death by hanging.
The defendant was represented by a lawyer, while the prosecution was led by Second Prosecutor Ahmed Omar Osman.
