Chad Seeks Sudan Friendliness, Al-Burhan sets conditions

A high-level delegation from Chad has arrived in the Sudanese administrative capital, Port Sudan, to arrange a summit between President of the Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan, and Chadian President Mohamed Deby.

Sources said, according to the Mada Misr website, that Al-Burhan stipulated the dismantling of Om Jaras base belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the closure of the Chadian border in the face of supplies to the RSF Militia.

A high-ranking source, in the TSC said that Chadian President Mohamed Deby sent envoys to Sudan last Sunday, on an unannounced visit, to negotiate ways to improve relations and hold a summit between President Al-Burhan and Deby after the Chadian government was involved in supporting the RSF militia and providing its lands as a crossing for UAE weapons to the militia, in addition to establishing a military base for the militia in the border city of Om Jaras.

The sources confirmed that Al-Burhan set strict conditions for holding the summit.

Sudan accuses Chad of opening the Chadian borders and airspace to the UAE to pass logistical and military support, military equipment, and mercenaries.
