Arab Journalists Federation Affirms Full Solidarity with Journalists in Sudan

The Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) has reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with journalists in Sudan.

The General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab Journalists held its regular meeting in the city of Laayoune, the capital of the Moroccan Sahara, chaired by the FAJ President, Moayad Al-Lami.

In a statement titled “The Laayoune Declaration – Morocco,” the FAJ reiterated its firm positions on the Palestinian cause, which is facing the most dangerous threats aimed at burying this just struggle.

The statement condemned the genocide, warfare, and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people.

The Federation accused the Israeli occupation of targeting journalists and media institutions, and of deliberately killing more than 250 male and female journalists in Gaza.

The Arab Journalists Federation’s statement called on international professional organizations—which have long filled the world’s ears for decades with slogans defending press freedom, freedom of expression, and the protection of journalists—to form an international fact-finding committee to investigate the full truth of the crimes committed by the occupation against journalists and media outlets.

The statement also demanded the filing of a formal complaint before the International Criminal Court (ICC) to ensure that the perpetrators do not escape punishment.
