An investigation by (Sudanese Echoes) – to be published later – revealed the type of drones that the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia recently used to hit power stations in Al-Shawak, Dongola, Singa and Merowe Dam. According to the newspaper’s sources, they are of the modified commercial type that can carry (120) mm mortar shells and are launched from long distances at their targets.

The source indicated that the parties supporting the militia have given them this modified type of commercial drones in order to conceal their identity, as they are not originally intended for military operations, as they are manufactured from commercial components but have been modified for destructive military operations, and they are of the (Quadcopter) model that the militia has owned since the beginning of the Khartoum war.

Meanwhile, the source pointed out that Amnesty International found boxes containing Serbian-made shells in some conflict areas in Sudan, with phrases and seals demonstrating that they were imported by a Gulf state for the benefit of the RSF militia.
