Al-Dagalo assassinates a well-known tribal leader

Press reports indicated that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia assassinated the native leader Abdel-Moneim Musa Al-Shuwain, the Chieftain of the Falayta Misseriya, following a discussion within the ranks of the rebel militia regarding the rights and treatment of war-wounded Misseriya.

Sources indicated that soldiers close to the militia’s deputy commander, Abdel-Rahim Dagalo, shot the chieftain, killing him instantly.

Military leader Dagalo had refused to cover medical expenses and directed that the Falayta Misseriya be treated in Nyala. This prompted the cheftain to threaten to withdraw his soldiers and join the army. The militia immediately executed him.
