After spreading in South Sudan, Sudan takes measures against “monkeypox”

Federal Ministry of Health announced the continuation of efforts and readiness to confront monkeypox after recording an infection in South Sudan, with a focus on health monitoring and tightening procedures for journeys coming from the south at various entry points.
Ministry of Health in South Sudan announced on Friday the outbreak of monkeypox in the country.
The Director of the International Health Regulations at the Ministry of Health, Talha Al-Sir, noted, in a press statement, the raising of the sensitivity of the disease surveillance system in the states and the tightening of monitoring at entry points, mainly for those coming from countries where the epidemic is spreading. He confirmed that Sudan has not recorded any infections.
