Dozens Killed and Injured in Drone Strike on Fuel Station in Al-Abbasiya Taggali
More than ten civilians were killed and others injured when a drone, believed to belong to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, struck the Nawafil Petroleum fuel station in the centre of Al-Abbasiya Taggali, South Kordofan State.
Sources in Al-Abbasiya Taggali told Darfur24 that the drone struck the station while it was operating and crowded with queues of people waiting to obtain fuel. The attack left more than ten people dead and others injured.
Attacks on fuel stations pose additional risks to civilians, particularly given the long queues that form outside them. Moreover, vital sectors, including water, healthcare and public services, depend on fuel to operate their facilities and equipment.
It was not possible to independently verify the casualty toll or the party responsible for the attack.
