Sudanese Army Deals Heavy Blow to Militia in Fierce Battle of Sali

The Sudanese Army announced on Tuesday that it had repelled a fresh ‎attack launched by an alliance of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) ‎militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) ‎led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, targeting areas in the eastern part of the Blue ‎Nile Region.‎

In a statement, the command of the 4th Infantry Division said its ‎forces, alongside supporting units, had thwarted a new attempt by the ‎terrorist militia and rebel Joseph Tuka’s forces to breach army ‎positions in the Sali area on the eastern axis of the Blue Nile Region, ‎inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment.‎

The statement said the army had successfully repelled the attack and ‎foiled the enemy’s plan. The operation resulted in the seizure of 15 ‎combat vehicles, complete with their equipment, and the destruction ‎of five combat vehicles belonging to the attacking force.‎

The statement affirmed that the division’s forces would continue to ‎discharge their national duty and decisively repel all attempts to ‎breach their positions. It added that field operations would continue ‎to strengthen security in the area and consolidate control over it.‎

The division reiterated its determination to continue fighting until the ‎rebellion is defeated in every part of the country desecrated by the ‎militia, and its plans to undermine security and stability and terrorize ‎civilians and displaced people in the Blue Nile Region are thwarted.‎
