22 Killed and Injured as Al-Dagalo Drones Strike Neighborhoods in El-Obeid
El Obeid, (Sudanese Echoes) – The Sudanese Army on Sunday repelled a large-scale drone attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia targeting civilian and military facilities, including the army command in El-Obeid.
The attack killed two people and injured 20 others after several neighborhoods across the city were targeted, according to a statement by the Sudan Doctors Network. The network said that targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian objects with guided drones was an extension of the repeated violations committed by the militia against civilians.
Local sources told Sudan Tribune that a number of strike drones attacked several locations inside El-Obeid early Sunday.
The sources said the attacks targeted the headquarters of the 5th Infantry Division, the army’s main base in North Kordofan, as well as other sites around the city’s airport and a facility belonging to the Ministry of Finance. The attacks caused loud explosions.
Meanwhile, an army spokesman announced that the Armed Forces’ air defenses had succeeded in shooting down an enemy drone north of Al-Kokaiti area in North Kordofan State.
