Agar: Chemical Weapons Allegations Are a “Political Lie,” Promotion of Claims Constitutes High Treason

Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Malik Agar said allegations that Sudan has used chemical weapons are “nothing more than an invention and a major lie that cannot be substantiated,” stressing that the claims are intended to exert political pressure on the state.

Speaking during a meeting with Sudanese media professionals and journalists, Agar explained that chemical weapons leave traces on the ground that persist for years and cannot be removed, describing the allegations being circulated today as politically motivated fabrications.

He said Sudanese people who promote accusations that their country has used chemical weapons have committed “high treason,” stressing that they should be prosecuted on that charge.

Regarding the military situation, Agar said the nature of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia’s rapid-strike warfare cannot succeed in Blue Nile because of the region’s challenging terrain.

He also conveyed encouraging news to citizens, saying that forces in Darfur have fully secured the territory and that preparations are underway to move to the phase of advancing and pushing forward.

On foreign affairs, the TSC Vice President said it would not be wise to enter into a military confrontation with Ethiopia at present, despite the presence of the enemy on its territory. He stressed that Sudan reserves the right to respond while fully maintaining the principle of good-neighborly relations.

Agar said there are “devils from among jinn and humans” preventing Sudan from reaching peace and obstructing the aspirations of the Sudanese people. He noted that 46 agreements had been signed in the country since independence, adding that Sudanese people now have a greater and more sustainable opportunity through comprehensive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue to build the country’s future.
