Sudanese Secondary School Certificate Results to Be Announced Thursday After Burhan Endorsement

President of Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has endorsed the results of the 2025–2026 Sudanese Secondary School Certificate examinations, paving the way for their official announcement on Thursday.

During a meeting with Minister of National Education Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar, Al-Burhan commended teachers for their dedicated efforts to keep the education process running and ensure the successful administration of the examinations.

Al-Burhan said their resilience under exceptional circumstances represented a message of hope and a bridge toward overcoming challenges, stressing the state’s commitment to supporting education and providing a suitable environment for teaching staff.

For his part, Al-Tohami said 559,000 students sat for the 2025–2026 examinations, compared with 510,000 before the war. He said he had briefed the TSC President on the general features of the results, noting that the increase in the number of students was a positive indicator of stability and recovery and the return of normalcy to the education process.

He said the examinations were held at 3,333 centers inside and outside Sudan, including 84 centers across 14 countries.

The minister expressed his appreciation to Al-Burhan and Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris for their continued support and sponsorship of education, saying: “We thank all the teachers, men and women, who successfully and competently carried out this national mission.”
