Dozens of Civilian Casualties in Drone Strike on Al-Dalang and Its Outskirts

At least 35 people, including military personnel, were killed late Tuesday, and dozens more injured, in a drone airstrike launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on various locations in the city of Al-Dalang, the second-largest city in South Kordofan.

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that “no fewer than 35 people were killed on Tuesday evening as a result of an air attack by an RSF drone that targeted the Al-Faragil neighbourhood in Al-Dalang.”

The sources added that the attack also struck the headquarters of the army’s 54th Infantry Brigade, in addition to a medical facility to which wounded soldiers had been transferred.

The siege imposed on major cities in South Kordofan since the early months of the war has contributed to a worsening humanitarian crisis, with famine cases recorded in Al-Dalang due to food shortages and the absence of humanitarian assistance.

The recent military escalation and ongoing aerial attacks on cities across the state have also forced thousands of residents to flee in harsh displacement waves toward North Kordofan, amid extremely complex humanitarian conditions.
