Sudan Produces 70 Tonnes of Gold as Mining Revenues Exceed $392 Million
Sudan produced 70 tonnes of gold in 2025, achieving 113% of its annual target and recording the highest output in the past five years, according to the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company (SMRC), the regulatory body of the Ministry of Minerals.
The company reported that mining revenues surpassed one trillion Sudanese pounds, equivalent to about $392 million, reflecting a strong performance across the sector.
At a meeting chaired by Minister of Minerals Noor Al-Daem Taha, the SMRC board of directors approved the 2025 performance report as well as the draft plan and budget for the 2026 fiscal year, amid record indicators of success underscoring the mining sector’s resilience.
The performance report pointed to exceptional financial and production outcomes, with total public revenues reaching 1.087 trillion Sudanese pounds (approximately $426.27 million), representing 132% of the planned annual target.
