Satellite Images Refute Claims of Army Bombing Schools in Kauda

Recent satellite images have contradicted claims made by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM–N) that the Sudanese Armed Forces carried out airstrikes targeting school students in Kauda, South Kordofan.

According to the images, the site targeted is a camp belonging to the SPLM-N, not an educational institution, as the area lacks the rectangular buildings typically associated with schools and educational facilities.

The airstrike on Kauda, considered a major stronghold of the SPLM–North leadership, marks the first of its kind in over a decade, signalling a qualitative escalation in military operations in the region.
