Destruction and Downing of a Cargo Plane Carrying Drones and Foreign Experts in El-Fashir
Sudanese warplanes succeeded in downing and destroying a United Arab Emirates (UAE) cargo aircraft that was attempting to land at El-Fashir airport.
Journalist Muzammil Abu Al-Gasim, citing military sources, reported that Sudanese Air Force “air eagles” managed to shoot down a cargo plane transporting drones, foreign experts, ammunition, and medical supplies intended for the UAE-backed militia in the city of El-Fashir.
The sources said the aircraft was attempting to land at El-Fashir Airport when it was intercepted, shot down, and destroyed.
On 25 November, the Sudanese army destroyed another military cargo aircraft that was attempting to deliver technical and logistical support and secure supplies to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) positioned inside El-Fashir. All those on board were killed.
In October 2025, Nyala Airport came under attack by drones at the same time a cargo aircraft was landing, resulting in the aircraft being targeted and destroyed.
In August 2025, the Sudanese army announced the destruction of another cargo plane — described by some sources as Emirati — at Nyala Airport. The aircraft, which was transporting Colombian mercenaries, was hit with a guided missile fired from a fighter jet.
