Minnawi to the UAE: “We Are Not Slaves… and RFS Militia Are Animals”
The Governor of Darfur Region, Arko Minni Minnawi, has pledged to return the displaced people of El-Fashir in Northern State to their homes in El-Fashir.
During his visit to Al-Affadh Camp in Northern State, Minnawi accused the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the international community of causing the displacement and killing of the people, asserting that the residents of El-Fashir were never in need and should not have ended up in displacement camps.
Minnawi directed sharp criticism at the international community, accusing it of contributing to the killing and torture of the people of Darfur through its silence over the actions of the UAE. He stated that the UAE covets Sudan’s resources and aims to change the demographic composition of Darfur by replacing its residents with people of other nationalities.
He noted that Sudanese are poor but part of the global community, adding: “We are not slaves, and I believe no master will come asking Allah’s permission to rule over us. We have no master.” Minnawi also commended the people of Northern State for hosting the people of Darfur, saying they are not mere guests but an integral part of Sudan.
He launched a scathing attack on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, likening them to animals and killers, asserting that they are not human and have committed atrocities unprecedented in world history. Addressing the UAE and the RSF militia, Minnawi said: “We have no alternative country. We will die in Sudan, and we will reclaim our dignity and prestige.”
He vowed to restore and reclaim every inch of Darfur.
