After U.S. Pressure… UAE Calls for Holding RSF Militia Accountable

The diplomatic adviser to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) President, Anwar Gargash, stressed on Saturday the urgent need to bring an immediate end to the tragic war in Sudan.

In a post on X, he stated that a ceasefire must be established in Sudan and that those responsible for atrocities must be held accountable. Since launching its rebellion against the Sudanese government in April 2023, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeidti), have carried out bloody massacres and large-scale killings across the country.

Gargash warned that the threat to Sudan’s unity and the resurgence of the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence pose grave concerns.

He also underscored the need to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and to form an independent civilian government in Sudan.

The statements come as clashes continue between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF militia in several regions, most recently in Kordofan.
