Juba Announces Resumption of Oil Exports After Attack on Heglig and Jebelain Fields

 

South Sudan’s Undersecretary of Petroleum Ministry, Deng Lol Wol, announced on Wednesday the resumption of the country’s oil exports to Port Sudan in eastern Sudan after a brief interruption.

 

Oil exports were disrupted following a drone attack on the Juba oil processing facility in Jebelain, White Nile State, on November 15, two days after a similar attack on the central processing facility in Heglig. In a press statement,

 

 

Deng Lol Wol said that “the full transportation and export of crude oil has resumed following a temporary halt due to a drone attack on vital infrastructure in Heglig and Jebelain.

 

 

” He indicated that oil exports are now proceeding normally from South Sudan via dedicated pipelines to the export terminal on the Red Sea coast.

 

 

 

The official reiterated Juba’s commitment to protecting its vital oil assets and maintaining stable oil production, which is a cornerstone of the country’s economy.
