Sudanese Minister: Militia Death Toll in El-Fashir Exceeds Victims of the World Trade Center Attacks in the U.S.
Sudan’s Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Ayesir, affirmed that the Sudanese government’s stance on the war against the militia and its backers reflects the aspirations and will of the Sudanese people, leaving no room for any agendas.
Speaking at a briefing organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) in Port Sudan, the minister said that the government is fulfilling its duty in a manner that satisfies the Sudanese people, reiterating that there will be no negotiations. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting civilians and providing humanitarian aid.
Al-Ayesir revealed that the atrocities committed by the militia during its attack on El-Fashir resulted in tens of thousands of deaths — a figure that surpasses the number of victims of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and other U.S. cities carried out by Al-Qaeda, which killed 2,377 people.
He called on the international community to classify the militia as a terrorist organization and to hold it accountable, emphasizing the government’s adherence to the Geneva Conventions for the protection of civilians. He also urged the international community to fully assume its responsibilities regarding the crimes committed by the militia and its sponsors.
In the same context, the Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism stressed the need to hold the United Arab Emirates accountable for its involvement in the genocide and ethnic cleansing that occurred in El-Fashir over the past 72 hours as a result of the city’s invasion by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Al-Ayesir strongly criticized the silence of international institutions and the global community over the heinous crimes and violations committed by the terrorist RSF militia in Darfur, which continue in El-Fashir to this day, accusing the international community of double standards in dealing with the crimes and humanitarian violations perpetrated by the rebel militia.
He added that the atrocities committed by the militia in recent days in El-Fashir alone are enough to classify it as a terrorist organization, noting that if the classification of terrorist organizations were based on numbers, the militia would have exceeded all limits.
Al-Eyesir stressed that the political groups allied with the rebel militia and the UAE are partners in all the violations committed in Darfur — the most recent being in El-Fashir — and must be held accountable. He appealed to the free peoples of the world to pressure for the designation of the RSF militia as a terrorist organization, as it has committed every type of crime and violation that qualifies it for such classification.
He reaffirmed that the stance of the Sudanese government, supported by the Sudanese people, remains firm in establishing a state of justice free from terrorist militias, fully committed to protecting civilians and coordinating the secure delivery of food aid.
