Hamdok Sends Letters to Foreign Ministers of United States, UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia

The Civil Democratic Alliance of Revolutionary Forces (Sumud), led by Abdalla Hamdok, announced its welcome of the initiative led by the International Quartet to end the war in Sudan.

The alliance stated, in a press release, that it had sent official letters to the Foreign Ministers of the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt.

The letter stated that the Quartet initiative represents an important step toward ending the suffering of the Sudanese people and putting an end to the worsening humanitarian crisis.

In its letters, the alliance emphasized the need to coordinate and integrate efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire, affirming the importance of ensuring unhindered access to humanitarian aid, providing necessary protection for civilians, and opening the door to a comprehensive political process that addresses the root causes of the crisis, paving the way for a just and sustainable peace.
