(Tasis) chooses its leadership body, appoints Hemeidti as chairman and Al-Hilu as deputy

The political arm of the Janjaweed, the Sudan Foundation Alliance (Tasis), announced on Tuesday the approval of its bylaws and the formation of a leadership body of (31) members, headed by militia commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeidti), and SPLM leader Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu as his deputy.
The coalition’s spokesman, Alaa El-Din Nugud, said at a press conference held by the group in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, that “following extensive consultations, the leadership body of the (Tasis) Alliance held a series of transparent and serious meetings, during which the bylaws were approved and the leadership body of (31) members was formed.”
He revealed that an agreement had been reached on Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo as chairman, Abdel Aziz Adam Al-Hilu as his deputy, while Alaa El-Din Awad Nugud was appointed as official spokesman, and Makeen Hamid Tirab as rapporteur. The spokesman reiterated the coalition’s full commitment to openness to all political, civil, and military organizations that resist what he described as “old Sudan,” reject war, and support a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace.
