160 Civilian Bodies Found in ‘Death Corridor’ Near El-Fashir

The Joint Force of Armed Struggle Movements revealed an unprecedented escalation of human rights violations committed by the Dagalo family militia in North Darfur, amid international silence that has fueled public anger.

Colonel Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, spokesperson for the Joint Force, said that the road linking El-Fashir and Tawila has turned into a “death corridor” after 130 bodies of brutally killed civilians, including women and children, were discovered, along with 30 young men who were tied up before being executed at one location.

He explained that many families have recently reported the disappearance of dozens of their children, including minors, in the areas between Tawila and El-Fashir and in villages surrounding the city.

He also pointed to the continuation of enforced disappearances in Abu Shouk camp, where more than 20 cases were documented in just two weeks.

The spokesperson confirmed that the militia abducted eight women and two girls to unknown destinations, in yet another violation amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Mustafa stressed that what is happening around El-Fashir constitutes a systematic campaign of ethnic targeting, carried out by a militia composed of more than 99% Arab tribesmen, against specific African communities, in an attempt to alter the region’s demographic structure and terrorize civilians.
