Ethnic Cleansing and Village Burnings in Orshi Reservoir Area as Minni Minnawi Condemns Global Silence

Darfur Region Governor Minni Arko Minnawi condemned an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on the Orshi Reservoir area in Umbro locality, North Darfur State, which resulted in the burning of several villages.

Minnawi described the violence against civilians in the area as “genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement,” calling the events one of the gravest humanitarian tragedies of modern times.

He also criticized the international response, saying the world awakens each day to new atrocities committed against unarmed civilians while remaining largely silent in the face of the suffering.
