Pre-emptive Strike: Sudanese Army Foils Planned Militia Assault on Dilling
The Sudanese Armed Forces carried out airstrikes on positions and concentrations of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) in several areas of South Kordofan State, according to military sources.
Sources told Ultra Sudan that military aircraft targeted sites in Al-Farshaya, Al-Dulaima, and Al-Kadar on Sunday, destroying approximately ten fully equipped combat vehicles and killing a number of fighters, including field commanders.
The sources said the airstrikes followed what they described as precise intelligence indicating preparations for an attack on the strategic town of Dilling. They added that RSF and SPLM-N forces had been mobilizing around the town in an effort to sever the vital route linking Dilling with Kadugli.
The escalation comes amid continuing fighting over the strategic Dilling–Kadugli corridor, following the destruction of a key bridge along the route, which serves as a critical artery for the transport of humanitarian assistance and essential supplies to the area.
