Widespread power outage hits several Sudanese states, but current gradually returns

Several Sudanese states experienced a sudden power outage on Saturday that lasted for hours, disrupting the daily lives of citizens, but electricity gradually resumed in the afternoon, according to local residents.
Residents of some states told Al-Taghyeer that power was cut off in the early morning hours without any prior warning.
The Sudanese Electricity Company has yet to issue an official statement explaining the reasons for the outage or specifying a timeline for full power restoration.
Residents of some states reported intermittent power supply after a period of complete shutdown, while others in the eastern states reported continued power outages.
This outage came at a time when the country is suffering from deteriorating basic services and the collapse of infrastructure as a result of the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces militia, which has further complicated the electricity sector, which faces increasing technical and operational challenges.
