Nearly 70 People Die Daily in Dagalo Family Detention Centers

Head of the Legal Directorate of the Advisory Council to the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Ahmed Elaish, who recently defected from the militia, revealed that between 40 and 70 people die daily in the militia’s secret prisons and detention centers.

Elaish attributed the deaths to the deprivation of detainees from water, food, and medical treatment. He noted that a large number of these secret detention centers are controlled by commanders and individuals within the RSF militia for financial gain through ransom payments, as well as for settling scores, abduction, and extortion.
