United States Condemns Rapid Support Forces Attack on UN Base in Sudan

The United States strongly condemned the killing of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and the injury of many others in a drone attack on a United Nations base in Kadugli, Sudan.

Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President on Arab and African Affairs, said in a tweet on X that the deliberate attack on a UN base represents a blatant disregard for international efforts to protect peace and security. He added that the warring parties must not target UN personnel.

Boulos called on the army and the Rapid Support Forces to immediately cease hostilities unconditionally, emphasizing the necessity of respecting international law and protecting civilians and humanitarian workers.
