Two Carriages Derail on First Journey of Nile Train Since Resumption of Service
The Sudan Railways Corporation reported that two carriages of the Nile Train, running between Atbara and Khartoum Bahri, derailed during its first journey since the war on Tuesday.
According to a press release from the Railway’s Public Relations and Media Directorate, obtained by Ultra Sudan, carriages 514 and 517 became detached while in motion at kilometer 125, Panga section, at 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The statement added that arrangements are underway to return the carriages to the tracks and reassured the public that all passengers and train staff are safe.
