Trump Adviser: We Do Not Equate the Government with the Militia and Will Not Recognize a Parallel Government
Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump on Arab and African Affairs, affirmed that the United States will not recognize any parallel government to the current Sudanese government, stressing that the U.S. administration does not equate state institutions with other parties involved in the conflict.
In press statements to Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, Boulos said Washington deals with the Sudanese government and the army as the country’s legitimate national institutions. He added that recent international and humanitarian mechanisms adopted by the United States to deliver aid were implemented in direct coordination with the Sudanese government and the Sudanese Armed Forces.
