Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has announced, in a surprise decision, the set on of the gradual relocation of ministries and government institutions to the national capital, Khartoum.
This move is based on a carefully considered timetable that takes into account administrative, technical, and human resources aspects, ensuring the continuity of service provision without interruption, and supporting plans to rehabilitate the capital’s infrastructure.
The decision comes within the framework of implementing the national vision to enhance governance and achieve balanced development, in line with strategic plans aimed at activating the role of the national capital as an integrated administrative center and relieving administrative and service pressure on Port Sudan, the temporary administrative capital.
