Sudan’s Intelligence Chief: “Sleeper cells pose a danger to the capital”

The Director-General of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, warned of the continued activities of the insurgency through collaborators with the militias and sleeper cells. He stressed the importance of repairing the social fabric and rejecting hate speech through joint initiatives with artists and cultural figures in support of national causes, affirming the Service’s readiness to be an active partner in this field.

Mufaddal paid a visit to the General Secretariat of the Khartoum State Government, where he was received by the Wali of Khartoum State, in the presence of the Service’s Deputy Director-General Lt. Gen. (Intelligence) Mohamed Abbas Al-Labeeb, the Director of Khartoum State Intelligence Maj. Gen. Al-Obeid, the head of the Specialized Directorate Maj. Gen. Mohamed Al-Tayib Ambega, and the Director of the Security Unit at the Khartoum State Government Secretariat Col. Salah Al-Din Mohamed Saeed.

The Intelligence Chief praised the Wali’s “firm” positions since the outbreak of the war, noting that the objective of his visit was to review the ongoing arrangements to improve the working environment of the Intelligence Service and develop its capabilities. He pointed out that he had observed continuous improvement in the capital, with several areas beginning to regain services, calling for further attention to environmental issues and the completion of remaining services.
