Sudan’s Finance Minister: Smuggling (48) tons of gold in (2024) to a neighboring country

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim has disclosed that a neighboring country obtained 48 tons of Sudanese gold through smuggling during 2024. While he said that Sudan is facing wars in various forms, including smuggling, he warned of the collapse of the Sudanese army if the Sudanese economy collapses.
The anti-smuggling forces in the Nile River thwarted an attempt to smuggle 312 pieces of gold weighing about 142 kilograms.
The Minister of Finance said, while standing on a large gold seizure thwarted by the anti-smuggling forces in the Nile River State, that the collapse of the economy will lead to the collapse of the army and thus the collapse of the entire country, pledging to provide all the needs of the anti-smuggling forces of the seized gold, announcing the motivation of the force that made the seizure.
