Sudanese Government Opens Sorghum Exports

The Acting Wali of Al-Gadarif State, Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, announced the federal authorities’ approval to open the export of sorghum and directed the strategic reserve to purchase 1.5 million sacks of sorghum from Al-Gadarif.
During a state government meeting today, the Wali said his recent visit to the administrative capital, Port Sudan, addressed several issues and concerns of the state, top of which the comprehensive solution project for Al-Gadarif’s water supply. He also highlighted the opening of recruitment for vacant positions in the state, particularly in the fields of education and health, in addition to supporting those affected by floods that hit several villages.
Al-Gadarif state government meeting also approved exempting government motorcycles from the ban, under certain measures.
