Sudanese-Egyptian warning of risks related to the safety of the Renaissance Dam

The consultative meeting of the foreign and irrigation ministers of Egypt and Sudan was held in Cairo, and addressed the developments of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam dossier, with the participation of technical experts from both sides.
The ministers agreed to enhance the concept of water security, and to work together to preserve the full water rights of the two countries in accordance with the agreements concluded between them.
The consultations addressed the developments of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam dossier, and the serious risks resulting from the first unilateral filling of the dam, mainly that related to the safety of the dam. The ministers stressed the importance of coordinating the efforts of the two countries at the regional, continental and international levels regarding the need to reach a comprehensive, fair and legally binding agreement on the filling and operation of the dam.
