Sudanese Army Launches Surprise Offensive on RSF Along El Obeid–Al-Dilling Road

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Monday launched a surprise military offensive targeting Rapid Support Forces (RSF) positions along the strategic El-Obeid–Al-Dilling road.

Field sources said army units carried out a swift assault on RSF positions as the group attempted to establish a presence in the area to threaten traffic along the route. The operation breached the group’s defensive positions and inflicted heavy losses in personnel and military equipment.

The offensive is part of the army’s broader strategy to secure national highways and overland routes linking the Kordofan states, ensure the safe movement of civilians and commercial convoys, and disrupt RSF supply lines and attempts to impose a blockade on the region.
