Sudanese Army Launches Surprise Attack on RSF Positions in Kordofan; Militia Assaults Umm Al-Soot

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) launched a surprise and forceful attack in the early hours of Tuesday targeting positions of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Kordofan region, marking a new escalation in the ongoing confrontations between the two sides.

Field sources reported that the operation targeted RSF deployments in several locations, amid intense clashes and heavy exchanges of fire.

Conversely, according to field sources cited by Al-Unwan24 Channel, the terrorist RSF militia launched a violent assault on the area of Um Al-Soot, north of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, triggering heightened tension and panic among residents.
El Obeid remains a strategic hub in the Kordofan region and has witnessed intermittent security tensions since the outbreak of fighting between the SAF and the RSF militia, given its geographic significance and its role as a link between western and central Sudan.
