Sudanese Army Launches Large-Scale Offensive in Al-Kormuk Axis
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) carried out a large-scale sweeping operation on Sunday in Al-Kormuk axis in the Blue Nile region, managing to storm a position held by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), forcing them to withdraw from areas they previously controlled.
A military source told Ultra Sudan that the army and supporting forces launched a wide offensive in Al-Kormuk axis, enabling them to establish full control over the targeted areas. The source added that the operation resulted in the destruction of several combat vehicles and the seizure of a fully equipped vehicle with its military supplies.
The source confirmed that the army’s advance is part of ongoing military operations aimed at securing Al-Kormuk area and tightening pressure on RSF and SPLM-N movements along the border region.
The source said that the air force engaged withdrawing forces, inflicting significant losses in personnel and equipment. He stressed that the armed forces continue to advance steadily on the ground, with reinforcements deployed to secure territory and consolidate control over strategic axes.
