Sudanese Army Foils Drone Attack on Fuel Depot in Al Gezira; Fuel Stations Targeted in Om Rawaba
Ground-based air defenses of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) intercepted a drone attack in the early hours of Sunday, targeting strategic fuel depots in the town of Om Elaila, east of Wad Madani in Al- Gezira State.
The attack involved suicide drones operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which attempted to strike the depots. The drones were shot down without any human or material losses at the oil facility, which had previously been damaged in a similar attack last September.
Meanwhile, drone attacks continued to target energy supplies and disrupt logistical capabilities in North Kordofan State. On Sunday morning, the RSF militia launched an attack on two fuel stations in the city of Om Rawaba, about 150 kilometers east of El-0Obeid, causing extensive material damage to both stations and injuring several civilians.
The attack marked the second of its kind against the city within just 72 hours.
Residents of Om Rawaba in North Kordofan State said they heard explosions in the early hours of Sunday morning, coinciding with the flight of drones belonging to the RSF militia.
