Sudanese Army Deploys Major Reinforcements South of Al-Rahad, Sweeps Jabal Al-Dair
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Monday deployed major military reinforcements to areas south of Al-Rahad in North Kordofan State in a move aimed at securing the area and re-establishing full control.
Field sources said army units immediately launched extensive sweep operations across villages in the Jabal Al-Dair area and surrounding locations to secure the area and pursue remaining Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters who had attempted to infiltrate it.
The deployment follows an RSF attack on Al-Musallamiya in Al-Rahad locality on Sunday that killed and injured civilians before the army repelled the assault and regained full control of the area.
According to the sources, the latest operation is intended to cut RSF supply lines, secure the strategic Al-Rahad–El-Obeid Road, protect towns and villages from further attacks, and facilitate the voluntary return of displaced residents.
