Sudanese Army Announces “Repositioning” in Bara and Elimination of Rebel Commanders in Dilling
The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces announced, in a press statement issued by the Office of the Official Spokesperson, that it carried out “historic” operations that repelled attempted attacks by the rebel militia and eliminated prominent field commanders on the Kordofan fronts.
The statement said the armed forces decisively confronted a “treacherous” attack targeting the city of Al-Dalang from two simultaneous axes. According to the statement, the forces managed to break and completely disperse the attacking force, noting that all field commanders who planned and led the assault were “neutralized and eliminated,” resulting in a collapse in the enemy’s combat morale and the flee of remaining elements from the area.
In the city of Bara, the armed forces fought intense battles that inflicted heavy losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment, including the elimination of leaders involved in the attack. The official spokesperson said the forces conducted a planned evacuation and redeployment of their positions within the city as part of a repositioning and deployment plan under a comprehensive offensive strategy aimed at fully clearing and securing the area.
Meanwhile, local sources told Sudan Tribune that Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia launched a violent attack at dawn on Monday using dozens of combat vehicles, drones, and artillery, forcing the army and the Joint Force to withdraw toward the town of Al-Dankoj west of Bara, allowing the RSF militia to regain control of the city.
At the same time as the battles in Kordofan, field reports indicated that Rapid Support Forces had taken control of the strategic town of Karnoy in North Darfur State near the border with Chad.
The army’s General Command also reassured citizens that it maintains “full control of the country’s airspace,” confirming that all movements of rebel forces are being closely monitored. The spokesperson concluded by announcing “expected military successes” in the coming hours, affirming that operations are continuing to clear all parts of the country.
