Sudanese Army advances in Khartoum Bahri

In the past hours, the Sudanese army has made remarkable progress in expanding its control inside Khartoum Bahri, where residents are facing a deteriorating humanitarian situation and a severe shortage of medicines in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia. This progress came as part of a military operation that began in Khartoum on September 26.

According to Sudanese media, the army succeeded in taking control of neighborhoods in northern Khartoum Bahri and sites in central Khartoum, and deployed its forces in several neighborhoods, before expanding operations to Sennar, Al-Gezira and Darfur.

The capital, Khartoum, witnessed violent clashes this Thursday morning between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, as loud explosions were heard in the southern and eastern areas of the city, coinciding with the rise of smoke in the neighborhoods of Jabrah, Al-Imtidad and Al-Ghaba (forest) Street.

A military source said that he fought alongside the army against the Rapid Support Forces in Shambat in Khartoum Bahri, where they were able to take control of sites including Al-Mashreq University.

The source pointed out that violent battles broke out in Al-Ingaz (revolution) Street, expecting that the army to control more areas in the coming days, after most of the RSF fighters withdrew to the eastern bank of the Nile River.

Supporters of the army reported on social media that the army took control of sites near the Shambat Bridge, which connects Khartoum Bahri and Omdurman. The bridge was bombed months ago, and the two sides exchanged accusations of responsibility.
